1965 Milton Bradley Jigsaw Puzzle Catalog
Scans and content © 2010 by Craig Fuqua
Milton Bradley's 1965 Jigsaw Puzzle Catalog for retailers advertises the company's
Jonny Quest puzzles on three pages.
It provides the retail prices of the puzzles but not the wholesale prices.
Interestingly, stores had to buy the JQ puzzles as part of packages that included
puzzles from other television shows with related themes.
Page 6 (below) shows the 200-piece versions of the
"Blazing Harbor" and "Winter Adventure" puzzles that were part of Milton
Bradley's "Explorer Assortment" of puzzles that year. They're rated for ages 8 to
15 and had a suggested retail price of $1. The assortment included two Daniel Boone
puzzles and were shipped in three lots, which meant a total of 12 puzzles.
On Page 9 (below), the 100-piece versions of the
"Blazing Harbor" and "Winter Adventure" puzzles that were part of Milton
Bradley's "Adventure Assortment" of junior jigsaw puzzles for ages 8 to 13. Instead
of Daniel Boone, they were packaged with scenes from (or inspired by) the show,
"12 O'Clock High." Also, there were nine assortments per shipment for a total of
36 puzzles. The retail price was 60 cents per puzzle.
Finally, Page 11 (below) shows the rarely-seen "Elementary Puzzles" that were sold
to retailers in packages with puzzles from the Addams Family and Hoppity Hooper.
Three puzzles in eight lots for a total of 24 per shipment at a retail price of
60 cents per box. Each box contained two framed puzzles.
