This black-and-white press photo, from the collection of Jeff Kilian, shows Jonny being pursued by Turu. It was copyrighted 1977 by Columbia Pictures Industries, and the caption reads, "A ferocious Pteranodon chases young Jonny Quest away from the valuable trinauxite mine during the 'Turu the Terrible' segment of 'JONNY QUEST.'"

Columbia Pictures distributed Jonny Quest in the 1960s under its Screen Gems brand, but dropped that name in the mid-70s.

A color version of the image had been used 10 years earlier as the cover for a South Australian TV guide, although the publication cropped Jonny's shadow and left foot.
